Grants And Equipment
Organizations across the country want to help remove barriers that exist between adaptive athletes and their entry to sport. Funding provided by the organizations listed below may be for equipment, travel, training expenses and more. Eligibility and the purpose of the grants may vary based on the organization.
The U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee is not responsible for funding provided by other organizations. Availability of grants and scholarships is subject to change.
Grant Opportunities#
Athletes Helping Athletes provides handcycles to children (18 and under) with a permanent physical disability.
The Challenged Athletes Foundation's mission is to serve people with physical disabilities through sport and fitness with meaningful grants. To apply for a CAF grant, an individual must have a permanent physical disability. CAF uses the International Paralympic Committee's eligibility criteria as a guideline. Individuals with strictly cognitive or intellectual disabilities are not eligible to apply.

The Kelly Brush Foundation's mission is to inspire and empower people with spinal cord injuries to lead active and engaged lives.
Through the Active Fund at the Kelly Brush Foundation, they provide grants for individuals with paralysis caused by spinal cord injury to purchase adaptive sports equipment. They believe in the power of sport and recreation to foster inclusion and overcome the barriers of paralysis. To date, the organization has helped over 900 people from 48 states purchase handcycles, monoskis, sport chairs, racing chairs, hockey sleds and much more.
Since 1956, Move United has focused on one goal: To improve the lives of wounded warriors, youth and adults with disabilities by providing sports and recreation opportunities.
Disabilities include those with visual impairments, amputations, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, head injury, cerebral palsy, other neuromuscular/orthopedic conditions, autism and related intellectual disabilities.

Semper Fi & America's Fund is dedicated to providing urgently needed resources and support for combat wounded, critically ill and catastrophically injured members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families.
The Semper Fi & America's Fund Specialized and Adaptive Equipment Program grants cover any equipment that can improve the quality of life for service members with disabilities.
The vision of the U.S. Association of Blind Athletes (USABA) is to have every American who is blind or visually impaired will lead a healthy lifestyle by actively participating in sports, recreation and physical activity.
USABA is pleased to announce the 2020 USABA Scholarship Program, including the I C You Foundation Valor Achievement Award and the Arthur E. and Helen Copeland Scholarships. Both the Valor Achievement Award and the Copeland Scholarships will be awarded to one male and one female athlete.
Behind every Women's Sports Foundation grant lies one concrete objective: provide girls access to sport and physical activity despite background or financial ability.
Grants are awarded to girl-serving organizations who strive to provide diverse, underserved populations of girls ages 8-18 with a way to get involved in sport and physical activity. Not only does the Women's Sports Foundation invest in girls sport participation through nationwide grants, they also invest in the female leaders who make these opportunities possible. The Women's Sports Foundation's scholarship program gives women at the collegiate level financial assistance in their pursuit for a higher education in the sports industry.
