Paris 2024: Team USA High Performance Center Access Guidelines

1. PURPOSE 

The Team USA High Performance Center is committed to providing optimal performance support and services to Team USA athletes and staff during the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024. Access to the HPC is contingent upon USOPC-approved credentials. This policy outlines the guidelines and procedures for media access, photography and filming at the HPC during the Paris 2024 Games. This policy ensures the safety, privacy and operational efficiency of the HPC, while giving media, partners and other stakeholders the opportunity to cover training and activities. 
 

2. SCOPE 

This policy applies to individuals and organizations requesting access to the HPC, including but not limited to: Media members (P24 accredited and non-accredited), Sponsors and partners, Team USA communications and digital staff (P24 accredited and non-accredited) 

 
3. ACCESS 

 
3.1 General  

  • Access to HPC is restricted to authorized individuals only. 

  • All visitors must check in at the registration desk and be issued a temporary credential or guest pass that will be provided on site. 

  • Authorized individuals may only access pre-approved locations.  

  • Unauthorized individuals will not be permitted entry. 

 
3.2 Media Access 

All requests for access and/or interviews must be made no later than 24 hours in advance via the online media form.  
 

  • Media representatives must complete an online request form found at the top of the page and must be pre-approved at least 24 hours before arrival. 

  • Credentials will be awarded at the discretion of the USOPC and corresponding NGBs.  

  • Approved media will receive a confirmation email with further details on entry and access guidelines for the HPC.  

  • Media wishing to conduct interviews must contact the sport press officer for pre-approval. The same credential application process and 24-hour policy (outlined above) applies.  

  • Approved media must present an ID card (passport, Driver License or P24 accreditation) at check-in. 

  • Media access will be limited to pre-approved locations. Accredited media will not have access to dining, medical or other designated athlete or back-of-house spaces. 

  • Accredited media must be accompanied by a USOPC Communications representative or NGB press officer. 

3.3 Sponsor and Partner Access 

  • Sponsors and partners must coordinate access through their USOPP liaison, in partnership with the USOPC Communications Team. 

  • Access will be granted based on partnership agreements and event schedules.  

  • Any athlete requests and waivers must be coordinated in advance.  

4. CONTENT CAPTURE (FILMING & PHOTOGRAPHY) 
 

4.1 General Guidelines 

  • All filming and photography must be conducted in a manner that does not disrupt training activities or infringe on the privacy of athletes or other individuals. 

  • The use of drones or other unmanned aerial devices is strictly prohibited. 
     

4.2 Media  

  • Filming and photography are permitted in pre-approved training locations.  

  • Filming and photography is not permitted in dining, medical or other athlete back-of-house spaces.

  • All media members must receive USOPC Communications team approval for athlete interviews before arrival.  

  • Media are not permitted to request additional athletes on-site unless agreed upon by their USOPC Communications or NGB liaison. 

  • Media filming is limited to specified times as outlined by the USOPC. 

  • Live broadcasting is not permitted. 
     

4.3 Sponsors and Partners 

  • Sponsors and partners must coordinate any filming activities through their USOPP liaison, in partnership with the USOPC Communications Team. 

  • Filming is restricted to areas relevant to their partnership activities and must not interfere with training or operations. 
     

4.4 Athletes, NGBs and Team USA Guests 

  • Athletes may film for personal use in non-restricted areas. 

  • NGBs must coordinate any filming activities through their press officer, in partnership with the USOPC Communications Team. Content capture (including filming, photography, interviews, etc.) is restricted to areas relevant to their NGB/athlete activities and must not interfere with training or operations. 

  • Generally, all content capture should be editorial in nature. Commercial use of any content/footage requires prior approval from the USOPC. 
     

5. MEDIA REQUESTS: PROCESS & APPROVAL 
  • The USOPC Communications team will review the request and notify the applicant of approval within 24 hours of submission.  

  • The Media Request Form will include the following details: 

  • Organization/Outlet name 

  • Names of media representatives (max. 2 per outlet) 

  • Contact information of the responsible persons 

  • Purpose of the filming/interview 

  • Athlete/spokesperson requested for interview (if applicable) 

  • Equipment to be used 

  • Approved requests may be subject to conditions or restrictions to ensure minimal disruption to operations and protection of privacy and security. 
     

6. CONDUCT & COMPLIANCE 
  • All individuals at the High Performance Center must adhere to the USOPC Code of Conduct and requirements outlined above.

  • Any behavior that disrupts the operation of the HPC or violates this policy will result in immediate removal and potential revocation of access privileges. 

  • Failure to comply with this policy may result in the revocation of access and filming rights. 

  • The USOPC reserves the right to amend this policy at any time to ensure the safety and efficiency of HPC operations.  
     

7. VIOLATIONS 
  • Unauthorized filming or violation of this policy may result in the immediate termination of filming activities and removal from the premises. 

  • The USOPC reserves the right to take legal action against individuals or entities that breach this policy.

Media wishing to conduct athlete interviews outside of pre-set HPC Media availability must contact the sport press officer for pre-approval.
