Athlete Commercial Agreements Resource Program

Team USA Athlete Ombuds

Purpose #

The goal of the athlete Commercial Agreements Resource program is to empower Team USA athletes to better understand their rights and value in the marketplace, specific terms of a commercial agreement, impacts of an agreement on their name, image, and likeness, as well as how the USOPC Athlete Marketing Platform (AMP), NGB-Athlete agreements, and/or commercial sponsorship agreements intersect with other commercial commitments or opportunities.

Eligibility #

Eligible athletes can receive up to 2 hours of cost-free support from an agent or attorney. In order to be eligible for the program, athletes must:

  • have been selected, in the previous 12 months, to represent the U.S. in international competition in an event or discipline on an upcoming Olympic, Paralympic, Pan American or Parapan American Games program;
  • be on a national team in an event or discipline on an upcoming Olympic, Paralympic, Pan American or Parapan American Games program.

Athletes who are already represented by an agent will be expected to work directly with them.

Once we receive your application and confirm your eligibility, we will connect you via email with an attorney/agent so that you can access up to 2 hours of cost-free counsel.
