Voice And Representation

Team USA athletes have rights and protections related to athlete voice and representation.

Team USA athletes have the right to have voice and representation within the governance of the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) and National Governing Bodies (NGBs) across the Movement. These rights are granted to them under the Ted Stevens Olympic & Amateur Sports Act and the USOPC Bylaws and are made accessible through the following channels:

  • Team USA Athletes' Commission (Team USA AC) and NGB Athletes’ Advisory Councils (NGB AAC)
  • Athlete representatives on USOPC and NGB boards, committees, and grievance panels
  • All members of the public, including athletes, can also submit comments on USOPC Bylaw amendments
