  • Fan Affinity and Engagement
  • Global Stewardship

The USOPC does not receive government funding, so it is the support and devotion from fans, donors and partners that enable Team USA to compete. Our ecosystem of advocates underscored their support in 2023, leading to a record-breaking fundraising year, retaining our population of donors and bringing in both new and former partners.

U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Foundation#

2023 marked a historic year for the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Foundation (USOPF) in more ways than one as we celebrated its 10-year anniversary and brought in nearly $60M in new fundraising activity – more than ever before despite a challenging fundraising landscape. Of all dollars raised, 82% came from current donors, underscoring the loyalty of our donor population who continued to support the USOPF despite the Tokyo and Beijing Games looking different than usual.

  • Line graph illustrating total new fundraising activity for the USOPF from 2014 through 2023 as follows: $10.6 million in 2014, $27.3 million in 2015, $17.8 million in 2016, $24.4 million in 2017, $36.6 million in 2018, $40.9 million in 2019, $20.9 million in 2020, $37 million in 2021, $47.9 million in 2022 and $59.3 million in 2023.

  • As we gear up for continued impact and excellence at upcoming Games in Paris, Milan and Los Angeles, 100% of these funds will go toward athlete programs and support including mental health, performance innovation, sending athletes to the Games and more.

Looking to the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024, we launched our Paris Hospitality Program, which allows the Foundation to show the direct impact of philanthropy on Team USA. With five distinct programs to choose from, the Paris Hospitality Program will be the largest hospitality footprint the USOPF has ever seen.

  • With the LA 2028 Games on the horizon, the USOPC developed an International Relations Ambassador Program to further engage the more than 200 participating nations. Donor contributions to this program will provide USOPF and the sport ambassadors opportunities to forge deeper global relationships. Ahead of the Games, these sport ambassadors will be on the ground to welcome their assigned country’s team as they first step onto U.S. soil.

We were incredibly grateful to announce two of our largest donations to date in 2023: a $10M donation to mental health from the Rieschel Family Foundation, as well as another $6M donation from the Lovelace family, which supported the creation of a National Governing Bodies microgrant program, new programming for Athlete Ombuds and the establishment of an International Sport Ambassador for Puerto Rico.

  • “USOPF’s focus is rooted in inspiration and unity. The USOPF bridges the division through sport by encouraging supporters, donors and fans to join our community and stand behind one team.”
